Moving The Shop

With N6221P flyable we could move the shop to our hangar in Junction City Kansas near our Army duty station for easier access. Not having to drive 4 hours to the plane is a bonus. This meant moving tool boxes, jacks, and parts from the hangar in Missouri to the hangar in Kansas. Here is a short tour of the mobile shop.

First up is my mobile general tool box with standard hand tools. Pretty normal stuff here combination wrenches, screwdriver set, punches, picks and more. I really like the parts drawers on this box that allows me to organize screws and hardware as i take them off the aircraft.

Next up is my avionics box. Here I keep the full complement of milstd wire with quality aviation connectors and pins for garming, king and narco radios. I hate to stop a project for a connector or a section of wire.

The big roller box had to move to as it has the full complement of aircraft special tools. Here we have a number of bogart tools incluuding the bungee tool and landing gear retraction mechansim torque adapter. Also in the box is a comprehensive slection of lubricants as specified by the service manual.

Last up is the hardware cart. Having the right hardware onhand keeps projects moving along smothely and properly. I keep all my stuff in these HDX boxes. Everything from cotter pins to AN6 bolts. Also on this cart are my small tool kits for test gauges, hose & tube fabrication and ignition tools.
