Finishing the panel was tremendously rewarding. The “new to me” stack went in with out issue. I constructed a new avionics bus with klixon 7284 series breakers and some .0625 aluminum plate. The overhauled and freshly painted instruments look way to nice next to their friends that did not get sent for overhaul. We’ll redo the others after we put some hours behind us. I also installed a replacement mil-spec push to test stall warning light as the original was missing. Finishing off the panel upgrade is a freshly cut ABS plastic overlay with obligatory matte black placards. The key thing on this panel was cost as we had spend most of the budget on airworthiness items. Total cost in the panel for us was about $1800 – mostly in instrument overhaul costs.

The interior came together nicely with a mixture of duratrim tan vinyl and duraweave oak fabric. We also finished up the shoulder harness install with new tan belts. We still want to do a few other things including replacing the red lower panel, updated red and blue vernier style controls for the prop and mixture, proper yoke medallions and updating the glove box.
